• ECA Kindergarten through 8th grade students take the Terra Nova standardized test every spring.

  • Terra Nova is a nationally standardized achievement test, not a proficiency test such as the state administers. Proficiency tests are those in which students have been taught all the content and are now being tested on whether or not they “got” it. Achievement tests include content that students may not have been specifically taught, but that they could be expected to have mastered according to their cognitive ability.

  • The test compares ECA students to other private schools across the nation and ECA has been proud to say that our students rate above average for Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies in the 2016/2017 testing year.

  • The overall test scores for ECA showed our students not only tested above national average but also improved from the previous testing year. The amount of improvement in math more than doubled from the previous testing period for our 8th graders making them more than prepared for high school.
